01 / THE APPROACH

Effortless evenings.
Thoughtful beginnings.

You don’t need another endless checklist. You need someone who knows which details deserve your attention.

Whether it’s a wedding, a milestone birthday or a celebration just because, we’ll look at how your guests arrive, gather, talk and dance—and what will help it all work together.

01

A welcome that feels ready

Music playing. A welcome ready. Somewhere inviting to gather.

02

An evening with rhythm

Food, speeches and entertainment that support each other.

03

An ending worth staying for

An evening with energy, a clear finish and a plan for getting home.

02 / THE ROOM MAKES THE PARTY

Keep the party
connected.

Powerful music on the dance floor.
Comfortable conversation at the bar.

Party layout is critical to success. Keep the bar close to the dancing, with a clear route between them. Aim sound towards the dance floor and away from the bar.

A nearby bar keeps guests part of the party. They can move naturally between a drink, a chat and a dance.

An illustrative plan. Check speaker placement and levels with your DJ or sound supplier in the actual room.

03 / MEET TOM

An experienced eye.
A straightforward chat.

“When people book me to DJ, we often talk about much more than music.”

As the person behind Splendid Sounds, I’ve spent 25 years working at high-end society weddings. The conversations with my clients cover the welcome, the atmosphere, the bar and how the whole evening will feel.

I’m now making that practical advice available to anyone planning a celebration. You don’t need to book me as your DJ.

04 / YOUR EVENING, THOUGHT THROUGH

An evening,
in ten chapters.

We focus on your biggest concerns and check the other areas for gaps. A detailed review may need more than one half hour.

01Purpose and guests

What would make this celebration a success?
We start with your guests, priorities and the atmosphere you want.

02Invitations and reminders

What do guests need to know before coming?
Clear information and a final reminder help guests arrive prepared.

03Arrival and welcome

What happens when the first guest walks in?
Have music, a welcome and a gathering place ready before the room fills.

04Party layout and atmosphere

Can guests move easily between bar and dancing?
Keep the bar close, routes clear and sound aimed towards the dance floor, away from the bar.

05The running order

What happens when, and who knows the plan?
Coordinate food, speeches and entertainment, with a clear finish time.

06Drinks and bar service

Can the bar cope with the rush?
Consider staffing, cocktail preparation and quick drinks during peak demand.

07Food and guest comfort

What might interrupt people’s enjoyment?
Check food timing, dietary arrangements, seating, facilities and temperature.

08Music and entertainment

How will the evening build energy?
Give the DJ a clear brief and plan handovers between entertainment.

09Suppliers and spending

Who is responsible for each part?
Confirm responsibilities, scope, costs and outstanding questions.

10Ending and backup plans

How does it finish, and what if something runs late?
Think through last orders, transport, weather and sensible alternatives.

05 / A CLEARER PLAN

Start with a conversation.

A useful first conversation. More time if you need it. A clear agreement before anything becomes chargeable.
